Since my birthday was yesterday I wanted to share one of my most fave shoots for this month's real event feature! We did this awesome spring-inspired styled shoot last year and it was just the most fun to design and put together. Full vendor list at the bottom of this post and all photos by Lauryn Kay Photography. Check out next week's post where we talk about how styled shoots work and what goes on behind the scenes!
We chose to do this shoot at the gorgeous Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland. I LOVE the vintage vibe and real history that connects this building to the city. It's a fave of ours for our clients to stay at on their wedding night and their lobby bar Jackknife is a major fave for after parties. I really can't get enough of this architecture!
This color palette really speaks to me as a creative. I am all about the light, delicate touches with some pops of dark thrown in for contrast. Allison with Scarlet Blooms created our gorgeous florals to compliment these rad chairs and tableware from Archive Rentals.
I am also pretty obsessed with fun and different place cards. I searched forever for the perfect shiny black tile to use this time that matched the feel of the space. I may have ordered like 5 sheets to be shipped to Home Depot before I finally chose one haha! The gorgeous lettering by Hey Halle really compliments their shape.
How about these tiny black cakes at each place setting? Dream Cakes made us some super cool black mini cakes to style with and we had a blast placing them at our table and styling a larger one on the fireplace in the Fireplace Room at the Sentinel.
Can we talk about this model and her dress????? Holy cow. Jessica was such a dream to work with. This awesome gown provided by Charlotte's Weddings and beauty by Blossom and Beauty really brought her vintage look together and I will love it forever. Her laugh and smile are so contagious aren't they?
Real talk, creating for our couples is my most favorite thing to do. Taking your vision and making it a reality is the best gift I could ever receive and I am seriously so in love with my job, but sometimes it feels so good to create for me too. Every time I take on a styled shoot and just let my brain run wild it reminds me why I love what I do so much. My job is really freaking cool you guys!
